At Kingsview Dental Calgary, we look at Dental Bonding as if it was like a simplified version of a Porcelain Veneer or a Dental Crown. While it can’t withstand the kind of abuse that those solutions can, bonding works well in a variety of situations.
Dental Bonding is a process in which a tooth-colored resin material is used to repair chips and cracks on teeth as well as to change the shape of a tooth or to close gaps between teeth. It can also be used to repair a decayed tooth or to fully restore badly damaged teeth. The resin that is used is matched closely with the color of your teeth so that it looks exactly like your natural teeth when the process is done.
The procedure typically takes from thirty to sixty minutes per tooth, and begins with slightly roughening the surface of the tooth and applying a conditioning liquid. Then the putty-like resin is put on the tooth surface and molded to create the desired result. Once the tooth repair or correction is done, a special light is used to harden the resin and bond it to your tooth. Bonding materials usually last from three to ten years before needing to be touched up or replaced.
Dear Valued Patient,
First and foremost, we want to extend our gratitude to all of our patients and community members for understanding the changes we are having to implement because of current events.
The Alberta Dental Association and College has mandated that dental offices only provide emergency services due to COVID-19.
Your health and safety is our priority. In that light, and in an effort to keep everyone safe, we have suspended normal dental care at our office, BUT we are still AVAILABLE to treat DENTAL EMERGENCIES! The last thing we'd want at this time is for patients with a serious infection to go to a medical provider because they could not find a dental provider. That being said, if you encounter someone with a serious dental emergency, please inform them that we are here to help!
All non-essential upcoming appointments will be rescheduled into the future. If you have one coming up, expect a phone call from one of our team members, if you have not already.
We will hopefully have a better outlook in the next few weeks and will keep you updated from our side. We look forward to seeing you all after the crisis and well into the future.
If you have ANY questions or concerns, please contact us at (403) 244 3844 or through our Contact form.
Sincerely, Dr. Kinjal Patel Kingsview Dental
